Kevin Morgan

Senior Research Fellow / Photocatalysis and Dual Fuel Vehicle Modelling

Senior Research Fellow working on the CASE Photocatalysis project for emissions/pollution abatement, based at QUB. Previous CASE work has involved techno-economic evaluation of dual fuel vehicles via drive cycle modelling.

Dr Morgan was awarded his BSc (Hons.) and PhD from QUB in 2007 and 2010, respectively, and also achieved Chartered Chemist (CChem) and Chartered Scientist (CSci) status from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in 2015).

Dr Morgan has an extensive background in catalysis, at the interface of physical chemistry and engineering. In particular, this research has focused improving the knowledge of catalytic processes through the application and development of the temporal analysis of products (TAP) and spatially resolved (Spaci) techniques. Catalytic processes of interest to date include the valorisation of organic (lignocellulosic) waste products, emission control, selective reductions, carbonylations as well as catalyst recovery, including the regeneration of precious metal catalysts.
