Yasser Mahmoudi Larimi

Lecturer / Waste Heat Recovery

Yasser is a Lecturer in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast since September 2016. Yasser graduated in 2011 from Tarbiat Modares University in Iran with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation until January 2013, he worked for a gas turbine industry in Iran. This was followed by 8-months postdoctoral research associate at Delft University of Technology/Netherlands on biogas combustion burners. Then for 3 years he worked with Prof Dame Ann Dowling at Cambridge University on combustion noise reduction in aero-engine gas turbines.

Yasser is an Associate Editor of Special Topics & Reviews in Porous Media- An International Journal and Journal of Porous Media. Yasser has published over 30 high quality journal papers and over 40 peer-reviewed conference papers.

He has been a principal investigator or co-investigator for a number of research programmes, funded by Invest Northern Ireland and industry. Yasser’s core research is in ‘Clean Energy’ with a number of ongoing research projects, including Waste Heat Recovery, Solar Energy, Energy Efficiency, Biogas Combustion, Noise Reduction in Ga Turbines, and Hydrogen Storage Safety.
